The QAS Board is responsible to the Minister for Police, Corrective Serices and Sport, Ms Judy Spence MP, for developing QAS policy and overseeing the overall direction of the Academy. The Board includes a number of former elite athletes and leaders in the Queensland sporting community.
Tracy Stockwell (Chair of the Board)
- President of Womensport Queensland and a Board member for the Queensland Events Corporation
- Former member of the Brisbane City Council Advisory Committee
- Captained the United States Swimming Team at the 1984 Olympics, where she won three gold medals
- Held five world records in swimming
- Member of the US Olympic, International Swimming and International
- Women's Sports Halls of Fame.
Daphne Pirie MBE (Deputy Chair)
- Vice Patron of Hockey Queensland and University Queensland Sport, a Director of Queensland Events - Gold Coast, Advisory Board member of Queensland Sporting Wheelies and Founding President of Womensport Queensland.
- Former Vice Captain of the Australian Hockey Team, Australian ranked track and field athlete, Captain of the Queensland Hockey and Athletics Teams, Queensland Country Golf Champion and international hockey referee
- Currently a world-ranked masters athlete, with eight gold medals from international competition
- Holds life memberships with Hockey Australia, Women's Hockey Australia and Hockey Queensland
- Hockey Queensland Hall of Fame Inductee.

- Played more than 100 games for the Queensland Cricket Team, 32 of these as Captain
- Played three unofficial Tests against New Zealand and four Tests against England for the Australian Cricket Team

David Lutteral
- QUT Journalism Graduate with over ten years experience covering local, national and international sport
- Started on commercial radio in 1996 and has since worked with 4BC and 2UE on projects including the World Athletics Championships in 1999 and the Sydney 2000 Olympics
- Known for his on-field Master of Ceremonies appointments David has appeared at the Goodwill Games and World Athletics Championships in 2003
- More recently appeared on field and as commentator at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games and the 2007 FINA World Championships.
- More commonly known for his sport updates and current position on the Nova 106.9 breakfast team and regular appearances on The Footy Show, Luttsy has also worked extensively with the QAS previously as a guest speaker and MC of events and ceremonies
