Australia Cup
QAS athletes succeeded in claiming seven medals in team and individual events to help the Queensland team to victory in the overall points ladder with 77 points over Victoria with 63 and New South Wales on 59.

• Matthew Boyd: 1st men's open pole vault (5.00m)

• Matthew Cameron: 1st mixed open wheelchair 400m (51.74), 1st mixed open wheelchair 200m (28.03) and 1st mixed open wheelchair 100m (15.03)
• Jessica Gilfillan: 2nd women's 2000m steeplechase under-18 (6:50.44)
• Patrick Johnshon: 2nd men's open 100m sprint (10.47)
• Rosie Lawson: 1st women's 100m under-18 (12.08) and 1st women's 100m hurdles under-18 (13.90)

Queensland State Championships
• Ken Wallace: 1st men's K1 500m, 1st men's K1 1000m and 1st men's K4 1000m
• Lyndsie Fogarty: 1st women's K1 500m, 1st women's K1 1000m and 1st women's K2 500m event
• Tate Smith: 1st men's K4 1000m, 2nd men's K2 1000m and 2nd men's K1 500m
• Jacob Clear: 1st men's K4 1000m, 2nd K2 1000m, 1st K2 500m, 1st K2 1000m and 3rd K1 1000m
• Bernadette Wallace: 1st LK2 1000m, 2nd LK2 500m, 2nd LK1 1000m and 3rd LK1 500m
Cycling
Australian Track Cycling Championships
• Michael Hepburn set a new World Record in the 3 kilometre Under-19 men's individual pursuit - he also claimed the Australian, Australian All Comers and the Australian Championship records.
• Hepburn also won the Junior men omnium and under-19 men 4000m team pursuit with fellow QAS athletes Jordan Kerby and Thomas Richards
• Jordan also claimed bronze in the Junior Men's under-19 25km Points Race, with 13 points
• Anna Meares won the 500m Time Trial, claimed silver in women's team sprint and bronze in Keirin
• Emily Rosemond and Kerrie Meares took out gold in the Women Sprint Final, while Kerrie won gold and Emily took out silver in the Women Keirin Final.
Diving
Australian Diving Championships
• Ethan Warren placed second behind Beijing Olympic Gold medallist Matthew Mitcham in the men's 1 metre final with 404.15 points

Hockey
• QAS athlete Liam De Young has played his 200th match for the national men's hockey team, the Kookaburras, against Belgium in a three test series in Canberra. He is the youngest player to reach this milestone.
Softball
• The Queensland Heat won the 2009 Gilley's Shield after defeating the ACT Diamonds 2-1 in the grand final of the series.
• QAS athlete Jodie Bowering received the Midge Nelson Medal as Most Valuable Player

NSW Swimming Championships
• Bronte Barratt: 1st 200m freestyle, 1st 400m freestyle, 1st 800m freestyle
• Nick D'Arcy: 1st 200m butterfly
• Sophie Edington: 3rd 50m backstroke, 3rd 100m backstroke
• Samantha Hamill: 2nd 400m individual medley
• Adam Kable: 3rd 200m butterfly
• Kenrick Monk: 1st 200m freestyle
• Ryan Napoleon: 2nd 400m freestyle
• Meagen Nay: 2nd 200m freestyle, 2nd 400m freestyle, 2nd 200m backstroke
• Stephen Parkes: 2nd 400m individual medley
• Stephanie Rice: 1st 200m individual medley, 1st 400m individual medley
• Jessicah Schipper: 1st 100m butterfly, 1st 200 butterfly
• Emily Seebohm: 2nd 50m backstroke, 2nd 100m backstroke, 3rd 200m individual medley
• Cameron Smith: 3rd 200m freestyle, 3rd 400m freestyle
Australian Open Water Swimming Championships
• Trent Grimsey won both the men's 10km and 5km races
• Melissa Gorman won the women's 10km event
• Both athletes secured spots for themselves on the Telstra Dolphins team that will compete at the FINA World Championships in Rome.
Triathlon
• Emma Jackson placed second in the second race while she won the third race of the 2009 2XU Australian Triathlon series and placed eighth in the final race on the Gold Coast.
• Emma managed to win the series on points, while team mate Courtney Dutton placed third.
• Ashleigh Gentle placed third at the Australian Junior Sprint Distance Triathlon in Hobart (second race of triathlon series)
• Courtney Dutton placed first in the ITU Oceania Championships on the Gold Coast, gaining her a position on the Australian female junior team that will compete in the World Championships on the Gold Coast in September. Fellow QAS athlete Emma Jackson is also a part of this team.
• Annabel Luxford and Courtney Atkinson won the women's and men's division of the 2009 Australian Triathlon Sprint Championships in Hobart.
• Courtney Atkinson and Daniel Wilson placed second and third respectively in 2009 Gold Coast ITU Oceania Championships
