Athletics
86th Australian National Athletics Championships
• Jarrod Bannister, Alana Boyd, Bronwyn Thompson, Sally McLellan and Dylan Grant each earned nominations to the AOC for selection into the Australian Olympic Team.
• Jarrod Bannister not only won the national title, he also broke the Australian javelin record, throwing a distance of 89.02m, 2.35m further than the record held since 2001.

• Justin Anlezark - 1st men's shot put 20.21m
• Jarrod Bannister - 1st men's javelin throw 89.02m
• Johnathon Bernard - 3rd men's 400m ambulant

• Bronwyn Thompson - 1st women's long jump 6.67m

Baseball
• QAS athlete James Linger was given a great opportunity to play with the Australian Men's Baseball team in a test series against Canada - at 17, he is the youngest player on record to play for the team. He has also signed a professional contract with the Atlanta Braves
BMX
• Jared Graves placed first in the BMX UCI Round 9 and Round 10 held in Penrith
• Krystal Cranfield placed third in Round 9 and placed first in Round 10
• At the BMX Supercross World Cup in Adelaide, Kamakazi placed third in the Elite Men's division, putting him in a good position to gain a spot on the Olympic selection list.
Canoe/Kayak
• Ken Wallace, Jacob Clear, Tate Smith, Clint Robinson and Lindsay Fogarty have been nominated to the AOC for selection into the Australian Olympic team.
Canoe/Kayak Oceania Championships
• Lyndsie Fogarty: 1st WK1 1000m, 1st WK2 500m, 1st K4 500m, 2nd WK1 500m
• Ken Wallace: 1st K1 1000m, 1st K1 500m, 2nd K2 1000m, 3rd K4 1000m
• Clint Robinson: 1st K4 1000m
• Jacob Clear: 3rd K4 1000m
Cricket
• Jo-Ann Verrall was announced as Queensland Women's Youth Player of the Year following a suburb season with the ball.
• Fellow QAS athlete Nathan Reardon was named the Queensland Academy of Sport Player of the Year and Bulls Best Fielder.
Football
• The Matildas won a three match series against New Zealand at Stockland Park on the Sunshine Coast.
• The Matildas have two upcoming matches against reigning Olympic Champions, USA, in Cary, North Carolina on April 27, with the second match of the series being played in Birmingham, Alabama on May 3.
• QAS athlete's on the current Matildas squad include: Kate McShea, Clare Polkinghorne, Karla Rueter, Sally Shipard, Lauren Colthorpe, Tameka Butt and Joanne Burgess
Hockey
• The OAMPS Queensland Blades were on track to make history by winning their third consecutive AHL Championship, but were surprisingly defeated 4 -2 in the final by the 2007 runner-up, the Smokefree WA Thundersticks.
• QAS athletes on the QLD Blades team: Troy Elder (Captain), Jason Wilson, Jamie Dwyer, Mark Knowles, Jacob Burns, Dean Butler, David Donnelly, Mitch Baker, Nathan Eglington, Liam De Young, George Clutton, Tom Brough, Matthew Swann, Stephen Lambert and Tim Bates.
• Kookaburras pre-Olympic squad of 24 will again be culled to 16, prior to the games. Of the 24, six QAS athletes have been selected amongst experienced players as well as relative debutants.
• QAS athletes Liam De Young, Jamie Dwyer, Nathan Eglington, Robert Hammond, Mark Knowles and Stephen Lambert have been selected and have over 800 caps for Australia between them

Triathlon
• Emma Moffat won the Australian Sprint Championships and backed it up with a convincing win at the recent Gold Coast Triathlon ITU Oceania Cup meet.
• Emma Moffat also won the Oceania Triathlon Championships in Wellington
• Felicity Abram placed second at the Gold Coast Triathlon ITU Oceania Cup meet.
• Annabel Luxford placed second at the Oceania Triathlon Championships in Wellington
• Emma Snowsill won the BG Triathlon World Cup event in Mooloolaba
• QAS athlete Courtney Dutton took out the Gold Coast Triathlon - Luke Harrop Memorial event, winning the 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run race in 1:05.02.
• Joshua Amberger, Ashleigh Gentle and Emma Jackson have been selected on the 2008 ITU Junior Triathlon World Championship Team which will compete in the 2008 ITU World Triathlon Championships in Vancouver, Canada
Water Polo
• Pietro Figlioli, Robert Maitland, Rhys Howden, Rafael Sterk and James Howden were on the Aussie Sharks squad that placed second in the Volvo Cup on a European tour
• William Miller, Rhys Howden and Anthony Martin were a part of the Aussie Sharks team that placed first in the Beijing Test event.
• While the QAS squad remained unbeaten in an international water polo tournament held in Kawana over the Easter weekend with QAS athlete Sam Robertson being named most valuable player.
• James Howden, Matthew Giles and Sam Hicks have all been selected to join the Australian Youth Squad while Daniel Young and Sam Robertson have been named on the Australian Junior squad.
