Track and field athletes put on a show in Perth

With some trying conditions on the west coast, Queensland’s track and field athletes recorded great performances in the Jandakot City Track Classic in Perth on Saturday 14 February 2015.

It was her first appearance of the 2015 Australian Athletics Tour season yet Queensland’s pole vault champion Alana Boyd came in third place in the women’s event with a distance of 4.35m.

London 2012 Olympic finalist Julian Wruck won the men’s discus throw with 62.60m, ahead of fellow Queenslander Mathew Denny who placed second with 59.30m.

QAS Jumps Program athlete Robbie Crowther continued his winning streak by claiming first place in the men’s long jump with 7.86m (w: +3.7).

Last week, Alex Hartmann recorded a personal best of 20.59s (+1.8) in the men’s 200m at the Canberra Track Classic. On Saturday, Alex recorded another win in the men’s 200m clocking 21.21s (w: +3.0).
