Athletics
• Eight QAS athletics scholarship holders have been selected as part of Athletics Australia's inaugural Target 2012 squad.
• Jacinta Boyd (long jump), Matt Boyd (pole vault), Robbie Crowther (long jump), Dylan Grant (400 metres), Charmaine Lucock (pole vault), Cal Pearce (high jump) and Josh Robinson (javelin throw).
Canoeing
• QAS athlete Caine Eckstein has written himself into the Coolangatta Gold history books by becoming only the second male to win the prestigious event twice. He won the 46km event in 4:14.15 - two and a half minutes in front of his nearest rival.
• QAS athlete Ken Wallace has been crowned as Australian Canoeing's Athlete of the Year.
• In recognition of a successful partnership, Ken's coach and QAS network coach, Jim Owens was fittingly named Coach of the Year.
• QAS athlete Lyndsie Fogarty was presented with the Team of the Year award along with her fellow team mates who won Olympic bronze in the women's K4.
Champions' Luncheon
• Stephanie Rice was announced as the 2008 winner of the Peter Lacey Award for Sporting Excellence
• The QAS Softball program was announced as the 2008 winner of the Team of the Year Award, accepted by Danielle Stewart and Jodie Bowering.
Cycling
• QAS athlete Rachel Bracken produced an outstanding performance at the recent BMX Queensland State Championships held in Cairns, taking out the Elite Women's division
• Jordan Kerby was crowned under-17 Queensland Cyclist of the Year for both Road and Track disciplines. He will now enter the under 19 ranks after also being selected as part of the Australian Team who will compete at the 2009 Australian Youth Olympics to be held in January in Sydney.
• Beijing Olympic medallist Anna Meares was presented with the prestigious Sir Hubert Opperman medal as the 2008 Australian Cyclist of the Year as well as the 2008 Scody People's Choice Cyclist of the Year and the 2008 Toshiba Elite Female Track Cyclist of the Year.
• Jared Graves was awarded the Elite BMX Male Cyclist of the Year and Chris Scott announced as the Male Para-cyclist of the Year.
Football
• QAS athletes on the QLD Roar W-League team include Casey Dumont, Kate McShea, Karla Reuter, Clare Polkinghorne, Lauren Colthorpe, Lana Harch, Brooke Spence, Ellen Beaumont, Jenna Tristram, Kim Carroll, and Tameka Butt.
• QLD Roar are top of the table after round 5 of competition, having only lost one game.
Queensland Sport Awards
• Stephanie Rice was crowned The Courier Mail/Konica Minolta Sport Star of the Year for 2008
• QAS athlete Emily Seebohm was crowned Coca Cola/Channel 7 Junior Sports Star of the Year
• QAS network coach Michael Bohl was announced as Coach of the Year.
• The Queensland Team of the Year went to the 4x200m Freestyle Relay team of Stephanie Rice, Bronte Barratt, Kylie Palmer and Linda MacKenzie for their 6 second world record - gold medal winning performance in Beijing
Swimming
• Stephanie Rice was announced as the Telstra Swimmer of the Year for 2008 and Womensport Queensland Sportswoman of the Year Award
• Bronte Barratt, Kylie Palmer and Stephanie Rice were presented with the Swimming Australia "Golden Moment of the Year" award following their sensational gold medal, world record breaking performance at the Beijing Olympics in the women's 4x200m freestyle relay.
• Sixteen year old Cate Campbell was awarded the Australian Sports Commission Discovery of the Year award
• QAS network coach, Michael Bohl was named the Telstra Coach of the Year.
• A number of QAS athlete's were also included on the Telstra International All Star Team; Andrew Lauterstein, Nick D'Arcy, Leith Brodie, Bronte Barratt, Stephanie Rice, Kylie Palmer, Emily Seebohm, Meagen Nay, Jessicah Schipper, Melissa Gorman and Kate Brookes-Peterson.

• Christian Sprenger placed 3rd in the 50m breaststroke and 2nd in the 200m breaststroke, while fellow QAS athlete Chris Wright placed 2nd in the 200m butterfly.
Triathlon
• QAS athlete Emma Snowsill has certainly stamped her name in the history books following her fifth consecutive win in the Noosa Triathlon, with her closest rival, Emma Moffat placing second.
• QAS athlete Courtney Atkinson took out the men's 1.5km swim, 40km cycle and 10km run event in 1:46.38, while fellow QAS athlete James Seear placed third
Water Polo
NTC Challenge
• The QAS men's water polo squad retained the NTC Challenge Cup following a decisive win over NSWIS in the final. QAS 10- NSWIS 3.
• William Miller was the second highest goal scorer for the event with 11 goals.
• The QAS women's squad also played NSWIS in the final, but had to settle for second place after being defeated 13-8.
