Basketball
• Gretel Tippett and Jillian Houghton were part of the Australian team that won gold in the Guam in the FIBA Oceania Youth Tournament.
• Gretel Tippett scored fifteen points in the final game where Australia won 108-32
• QAS athletes Mitchell Mccarron and Corban Wroe were part of the team that also won gold in the men's division defeating Tahiti comfortably 95-48.
Canoe/Kayak
• QAS athlete Lani Belcher made an impressive debut in her first senior marathon canoe event taking out silver in the women's K1 marathon at the World Marathon Championships in the Czech Republic
• QAS athlete Caine Eckstein won the prestigious Coolangatta Gold event, writing himself into the history books as only the second male to win the event twice finishing in 4:14.15 - his first win was in 2005.
Football
• The Westfield Matildas had a fantastic undefeated run at the ASEAN Football Federation Championships in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
• The Australian's won the tournament defeating home team Vietnam 1-0 in the final
• QAS athlete's on the Matildas team included Clare Polkinghorne, Brooke Spence, Lauren Colthorpe, Jenna Tristram, Tameka Butt and Elise Kellond-Knight.
• Round 1 of the Westfield W-League proved exciting for the QLD Roar team who took on Adelaide United at QSAC, winning 4-1
• QAS athletes on the QLD Roar team include Casey Dumont, Kate McShea, Karla Reuter, Clare Polkinghorne, Brooke Spence, Ellen Beaumont, Jenna Tristram, Kim Carroll, and Tameka Butt.
Individual Scholarships
• QAS AWD athlete Ashley Adams has followed on from his good form at the Paralympic Games at the Australia Cup 3 in Sydney
• Ashley competed in the air rifle prone able bodied event, shooting 594 out of 600 to take second place behind the Olympic champion.
• This is Ashley's second highest score at the Sydney range, his best being 595 out of a possible 600
Paralympics
• Queensland's Paralympians were given the welcome home they deserved with an official reception in the Queen Street Mall in front of several hundred supporters

• Men's 400m medley relay: 1st Ben Donaldson, Christian Sprenger, Chris Wright and Kyle Richardson
• QAS athlete Trent Grimsey won the prestigious Tiburon Mile at Angel Island on his first attempt in the event. Breaking tradition, Trent swum on his own up the left side of the course to take the win ahead of the pack.
FINA/ARENA Swimming World Cup
• Christian Sprenger took out the breaststroke treble at the Belo Horizonte, Brazil leg of the Swimming World Cup. Claiming the High Pointscorers Award
• Fellow QAS athlete Kyle Richardson claimed bronze in the men's 100m freestyle, men's 100m individual medley and the men's 200m freestyle.
• When the series came to Sydney, Christian again took out the breaststroke treble, topping the pointscore table on 55 points.

• QAS athlete Stephanie Rice was named the Telstra Swimmer of the Year, becoming the sixth female to win the coveted award
• Bronte Barratt, Kylie Palmer and Stephanie Rice were presented with the Swimming Australia "Golden Moment of the Year" award
• Sixteen year old Cate Campbell was awarded the Australian Sports Commission Discovery of the Year award
• QAS network coach, Michael Bohl was named the Telstra Coach of the Year
• QAS athletes named on the Telstra International All Star Team; Andrew Lauterstein, Nick D'Arcy, Leith Brodie, Bronte Barratt, Stephanie Rice, Kylie Palmer, Emily Seebohm, Meagen Nay, Jessicah Schipper, Melissa Gorman and Kate Brookes-Peterson.
