The Performance Science Unit encompasses three different disciplines of Physiology, Biomechanics and Skill Acquisition to provide evidence-based support and undertake applied research projects to assist elite athletes and coaches.
The Physical Performance Unit provides services in the areas of speed, agility, endurance, strength, flexibility, injury prevention, management and rehabilitation.
The QAS employs coaches to implement elite training programs for the Academy's athletes, many of the QAS coaches are also appointed as National Coaches at varying levels of elite competition.
Formerly known as Athlete Career and Education (ACE) the Personal Development Unit provides eligible athletes with career, education and personal development services as well as transitional support when going through personal and sporting changes.

Centre of Excellence (CoE) and Applied Science Research
The primary objective of the Centre of Excellence is to facilitate research and to communicate research results which assist the QAS to develop elite Queensland athletes, teams, and coaches.
Performance Knowledge Centre
The QAS Performance Knowledge Centre houses books, journals, reports, DVDs, CD ROMs and videos on a range of subjects relating to sport, with a particular focus on sport science, sport medicine and coaching.
