The QAS Individual Scholarship Program provides assistance to elite Queensland athletes competing in sports that are not covered by a QAS sport program. For an able-bodied athlete to be eligible for an individual scholarship they must be competing in an Olympic sport, with an open top ten international ranking for individual sports or an open top four international ranking as a member of a team. For an athlete with a disability to be eligible they must be competing in a Paralympic sport, with an individual top eight international ranking or two top eight finishes at significant international competitions, or be a member of a national team with a top six world ranking.
QAS individual scholarship holders are provided with financial assistance to help cover the costs associated with training and competing at the highest levels. They also receive Athlete Career and Education support and have access to the Information Centre.
The QAS is open to receiving applications from both individual scholarships and athletes with disabilities throughout the year. If you would like to apply please contact Teagan Wilkie, Coaching Support Officer at teagan.wilkie@communities.qld.gov.au
