Our home Games

With the Games being staged in our backyard, we are committed to providing our athletes with cutting edge support to ensure they are able to perform at their best in front of a home crowd. We are proud to play an integral role with 130 Queensland athletes representing Australia across 17 of the 23 Commonwealth sports to be competed on the Gold Coast. QAS support staff have worked tirelessly to assist these athletes with various performance services including coaching, physiology, biomechanics, personal development and a range of health services. Within each of the above areas we endeavor to go above and beyond to ensure our athletes are given all of the tools necessary to succeed.

Keep up to date with the Queenslanders

Leading into the Commonwealth Games we want to provide Queenslanders with a ‘behind the scenes’ look into how our athletes are preparing for this major event. We will offer an insight into their regular training days, various laboratory tests they do to measure performance and different mechanisms used for analysis. In addition to this we want to uncover their true personalities and find out what makes them tick.

We will also be closely following athlete’s qualification processes for the Games and then we will be the one stop shop for all things ‘Queensland’ when the Games begin. Will provide regular results updates, medal tallies, records and more through our social media channels and blogs via the Latest News section.

Follow us on the QAS official Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts for all of the latest updates.
