1 February 2018

This week, three Queensland athletes have been confirmed as members of the Australian Gold Coast Commonwealth Games teams for table tennis and shooting.

Commonwealth Games Australia announced that 2016 Paralympian Andrea McDonnell will make her Commonwealth Games debut in April as part of the 12-strong table tennis team. While seasoned competitors Paul Adams and Dane Sampson will represent the nation in shooting.

Andrea will be taking on the women’s class 6-10 table tennis singles competition at the Oxenford studios from 5-15 April. A powerhouse in the para sport on home shores, Andrea is keen to demonstrate her dominance to the Commonwealth.

Having both competed in a previous Commonwealth Games, Paul and Dane are looking forward to the opportunity to match up against their competitors in their own back yards. There are four disciplines in the shooting competition pistol/rifle/shotgun and fullbore, with Paul lining up in the shotgun and Dane the rifle at the Belmont Shooting Range from 8-14 April.

Limited tickets are still available for both events, so if you are keen to see some great GC2018 action, now is the time to jump online and check out all of the details.
