Great start to the international season for emerging QAS triathletes!

Three of Queensland’s rising stars on the triathlon world circuit began the 2018 international season with a bang over the weekend. Chengdu, China played host to some of the world’s best triathletes for the 2018 ITU Triathlon World Cup in the super-sprint race format held over two days.

Sophie Malowiecki and Kira Hedgeland finished 9th and 16th respectively in the Elite Women’s Final while Matthew Roberts came in third in the Elite Men’s B Final. The sprint format comprises of a 400-metre swim, 10-kilometre bike and a 2.5-kilometre run to finish.

The circuit will now head to Yokohama Japan where athletes will compete in the standard Olympic length race. Be sure to keep an eye on QAS social channels for all the latest results.
