Cassiel Rousseau receives Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship

17 September 2018

Promising new diver, Cassiel Rousseau has received a 2019 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship. He is awarded with one-on-one mentoring by Karla Gilbert OAM Surf Life Saving and $5,000 sporting expenses grant to help him reach the highest level of his sport.

Cassiel was a former acrobatic gymnast before he joined the QAS Prospect for Gold (P4G) program where he made the switch to diving in 2017. The switch proved a positive step and in 2018 he has already racked up some great performances. He won the junior nationals 3m springboard and claimed silver in the 1m springboard. He was then selected to compete at the FINA Junior World Championships but unfortunately had to withdraw due to a back injury. He has his sights set on more international events and with the support from Karla and the scholarship, we have no doubt Cassiel will go on to achieve great results.

Everyone at the QAS would like to congratulate Cassiel on his scholarship and we can’t wait to see what his future holds.
