9 October 2019

The Queensland Academy of Sport and Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre are set for a $10 million redevelopment as part of Activate Success - key priority of Activate! Queensland 2019-2029.

The major redevelopment will set the scene for continued success on the global sporting stage.

The upgrades will take the already international standard facility to a new era of innovation. Current and future QAS elite athletes will benefit from the revamp which is set to include a state of the art sport science and technology space to draw in leading sport researchers from across the nation and around the world, as well as a full upgrade of the training facilities. QSAC will become a co-location for some of the state’s key sporting bodies, housed in new fit-for-purpose offices.

The announcement will boost current athletes and support staff, and will inspire a new generation of Queensland stars.
