Results wrap: QAS-supported athletes selected for Paris and more

Eight QAS-supported athletes have secured their tickets to Paris, four of which are making their Olympic debut, among the eleven Canoe Sprint Paddlers selected for the Australian Olympic Team.

Aly Bull, Alyce Wood, Tom Green, Jean van der Westhuyzen, Ally Clarke (Debut), Noah Harvard (Debut), Pierre van der Westhuyzen (Debut), and Jackson Collins (Debut) will represent Australia on the world stage following the 2024 Paddle Australia Canoe Sprint Championships in Penrith.

Major international competitions

With just four months until the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, QAS supported athletes have been competing in various events both locally and internationally. Here's our wrap up.

Skate – World Skateboarding Tour Dubai

In an electrifying talent showcase, QAS-supported athletes made waves at the recent World Skateboarding Tour event in Dubai. With remarkable performances and notable achievements, these athletes displayed the highest levels of skill and determination on the world stage.

Chloe Covell emerged as a standout performer in the Street discipline, securing a silver medal and achieving a score of 93.49 during the competition - the highest scoring Street skateboarding run of all-time. Her remarkable journey to the final captivated audiences and solidified her position as one of the top contenders in skateboarding.

QAS-supported athletes Arisa Trew and Keiran Woolley showcased their prowess in the women's and men's Park skateboarding events. Finishing just shy of the podium by less than 1 point, their performances were impressive. Both athletes have now secured their spots in phase two of Olympic Qualification, highlighting their potential to represent Australia on the grand stage.

Thirteen-year-old Arisa from the Gold Coast has been nominated for the 2024 Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year. This prestigious recognition underscores Arisa's exceptional talent and dedication to her craft, setting her apart as a rising star in the skateboarding world.

Bobsleigh - Winterberg Two-Women World Championship Germany

QAS supported bobsledder Bree Walker and her teammate Kiara Reddingius had an outstanding performance, finishing 5th place in the two women's bobsleigh competition in Germany.

This result follows Bree’s 4th place in the monobob in the week prior, having narrowly missed the podium.

Diving – World Aquatics Diving World Cup, Montreal

QAS-supported divers competed in the individual finals at the 2024 Diving World Cup in Montreal.

Maddison Keeney and teammate Anabelle Smith (VIS) took home a bronze medal in the Women's 3-metre Synchronised Springboard event.

Cassiel Rousseau and Australian teammate Domonic Bedggood (VIS) narrowly missed out on securing a podium finish, placing 4th in the Men's 10-metre Platform Synchronised final.

Following the conclusion of the national selection trials, several QAS-supported athletes were selected for the Australian team for the 24th season over the weekend.
