Join us in shaping the future of inclusive sportstech!

22 February 2024

The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is collaborating with Sport and Rec and Advance Queensland to launch the Inclusive Sport Tech Challenge. With a total grant pool of $300,000 available to small-to-medium enterprises, this initiative aims to revolutionise sports participation and performance for individuals with disabilities.

Proposed solutions may encompass a wide spectrum, including inclusive equipment, advanced coaching programs, and digital tools prioritising accessible information about sporting activities, facilities, events, and registration processes. By fostering innovation in these areas, the challenge seeks to enhance opportunities for individuals with disabilities, promoting active and healthy lifestyles while fostering inclusiveness within local communities.

The goal is to enrich the talent pool for state, national, and international competitions, including the Paralympic Games. Up to three successful applicants will receive funding of up to $100,000 each to pilot their concepts in collaboration with the QAS and the Department of Tourism and Sport.

Paralympic champion Ben Newton and Dane Cross, COO of Sporting Wheelies, applauded the challenge as a pivotal step toward inclusive innovation in sports technology. It's an opportunity to break barriers and embrace a future where participation and excellence in sports are limitless.

Don't miss out! Applications close on March 26.
