QAS strengthens athlete safeguarding with new Integrity Manager

In December, the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) partnered with Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) to bolster athlete safeguarding . At that time, QAS became the first State Institute of Sport to appoint an Integrity Manager.

Tamarah Knox who was appointed to this critical role is leading QAS’s efforts to enhance staff, athlete, and coach understanding of integrity protocols and provide athletes with a dedicated point of contact for reporting integrity concerns.

Tamarah brings extensive experience which will support her work to maintain QAS’ environment where athletes of all backgrounds can thrive and access the resources and support required to reach their full potential.

Tamarah's appointment signifies a significant milestone in QAS' ongoing commitment to prioritise athlete safety and well-being and underscores our commitment to safety, transparency, accountability and ethical conduct.

We aim to leverage the previous work undertaken by Sports Integrity Australia to fortify our integrity framework and continue to uphold the highest standards in high-performance sports.
